Archery Lessons

Are you looking for a new and exciting summer activity for your child? Hoot & Holler offers Explore Archery, where participants will learn the fundamentals of archery per the National Training System, which includes proper posture and alignment, aiming, release, and follow-through. The activities and games teach range safety, equipment, shooting form, shot execution, and scoring. Participants earn achievement awards through active participation in individual and team-building activities that require fundamental skills, a competitive edge, and a lot of creativity.

This camp is for archers who want to learn how to shoot compound, recurve, and Genesis bows and for those who want to participate in archery in school.

• Classes are limited to 10 participants and must have a minimum of 5 students to commence.
• Geared towards beginner and intermediate archers
• You must be eight years and older to participate
• Participants may use their own equipment, or Hoot & Holler Archery will provide Genesis bows and arrows to those who do not have their own equipment.
• Protective gear such as arm guard, finger guard, and finger sling will be required.
• Participants will be issued stretch bands
• Dress Code: Proper Attire and Closed Toed Shoes

Due to increased demand for lessons, we offer group lessons to prepare school archers for tournaments. The group is limited to five archers; they must have at least three for class to commence. We recommend not having back-to-back lessons. Spots are pre-paid. The lesson costs $100 for four lessons and $25 for additional lessons. Three or fewer lessons will be $30.00. This one-hour introductory class is designed to teach students how to shoot a bow and arrow safely and excite them about archery through fun games and activities. Participants will learn range safety, whistle, and shooting commands, be fitted with archery equipment, and understand the shooting steps.

The students will learn the fundamentals of archery in accordance with the National Training System (NTS) which includes proper posture and alignment, aiming, the release, and follow through. They will also gain knowledge of archery etiquette and safety while having fun shooting arrows. This class is designed to create a solid foundation of knowledge and skill that will allow you to progress in the Archery in the School Program.

This class is geared towards Genesis bow shooters who have already learned the fundamentals of Archery in accordance with the National Training System (NTS), have taken the Intro class or ExplArcheryhery, or must have prior tournament experience. The class allows shooters to gear up, warm up, and continue with basics in safety and form. This class provides the instruction and guidance to hone skills, improve form and concentration, focus on shot execution, and learn tournament rules. It creates a framework for further competition and develops strength, accuracy, confidence, and consistency. Upon course completion, students are encouraged to join the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Club for continued archery instructions.
